  Owakudani Valley

  Owakudani, as well as Lake Ashi are the most famous view spots in Hakone. A majestic view of Mt. Fuji leading the ranges of mountains of Hakone can be enjoyed at Owakudani. The eruption site traces the volcanic activities 400000 years ago.

  Hakone Shrine

  Hakone Shrine Hobutsuden (Treasury House) displays a number of artifacts ranked as National Important Cultural Properties including the seated figure of monk Mangan, historical documents, paintings as well as other extraordinary works of art. Hakone shrine is popular with its reputation as a love power spot.

  Museum of the Little Prince in Hakone

  The writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's documentary literature is exhibited.

• Hakone Sekisho

  This barrier has been standing since 1619. The check point was built to prevent the uprising of Daimyos (feudal lords) during the 2nd Tokugawa Shogunate Hidetada era.

  Pola Museum of Art

  Opened in Sengokuhara district of Hakone in 2002. It houses a collection of 9,500 works of Western arts such as impressionists art. In addition to their permanent collection, they hold scheduled exhibitions.

• Old Hakone Highway Museum

  Traveling circumstances and episodes during Edo period are depicted in a miniature model. Traveling tools and clothing used in Edo period are exhibited.

  Narukawa Art Museum

  One of the most prominent museums in Japan which houses over 4,000 works of modern Japanese art. Perfectly located on a hill side overlooking Lake Ashi in Hakone.

• Hakone Museum of Art

  Focusing on pottery and ceramics from the medieval period, we showcase the strong and profound works of the Six Oldest Kilns in Japan (Tokoname, Seto, Echizen, Shigaraki, Tanba, and Bizen) as well as old ceramics from Jomon to Edo periods.

• Chohkokunomori Museum of Art

  Works of famous artists are exhibited in an outdoor open space.
